Kids Up Front
at
Pawling Elementary School!

(open to students from all school districts)

Come join the fun
in our unique drama program
for students in grades K - 4
that will culminate in a children’s production of
William Shakespeare’s
A Midsummer Night’s Dream!”

Two Classes:

Grades K-2
Wednesdays 3:40 - 4:40 PM
starting Oct. 7

Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of drama and performance through a variety of theatre games and activities, utilizing props, puppets, and other materials for hands-on learning.  The second half of the year, students will use their skills to help create a production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”

Grades 3 & 4
Thursdays 3:40 - 4:30 PM
starting Oct. 8

Students will learn the fundamentals of acting technique through the use of theatre games and improvisations.  The use of focused improvisations will help students develop an understanding of dramatic conflict and narrative structure, as well as how to make a scene more realistic through sense-memory techniques. The second half of the year, students will be encouraged to come up with their own solutions about how to most clearly tell the story of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” as they develop it into a full-scale production for the community.

Thanks to an arts grant, we can now offer new, reduced tuition!
